There has been many things said about online casinos, and many questions asked, such as: are they safe ? are they secure ? are they morally wrong ?, Who benefits from them ?. Does anyone really win ?. Well let me take 5 minutes of your time and try and straighten a few things out.
Firstly Online casinos are meant to be a form of entertainment. They are not there to earn a living from or too subsidise your wages - like most people think. That is the wrong attitude and the wrong mindset when entering a casino. Wether that be online or at a brick and mortar venue. Casino gambling should always be treated as a bit of fun and enjoyment, and if your “up” at the end of the night then thats a bonus and should just be an added bonus to the fun night i hope you’ve already had. Setting out with the goal to make money is in itself setting yourself up to fail.

So you want to improve your blackjack game? There are lots of guides and articles around saying what you should do to improve. They are full of information and comprehensive but this can also be the problem; some are too technical and others take too long to read and reinforce. So here are a few blackjack moves for you to avoid, which will help get you started immediately.
Standing - Choose a blackjack table where the dealer has to stand on a soft 17 rather than a soft 18. This is because the house edge is lower than when a dealer hits on a soft 17 by 0.02%. OK, it’s not much but its better to shave the house edge as much as possible as this can only help your finances in the long run.
Splitting - This is a great move in blackjack but only if used wisely. The main mistake that is made is splitting a decent hand into two separate losing hands, and for an additional cost! A simple to get you started; never split 10’s and 5’s, including all pairs of picture cards. You will only lose in the long run as you will either have to stand on a low total or are bound to go bust.
Busting - Believe it or not one of the worst tactics you can use is to never go bust. This is something which has been fooling new and experienced blackjack players alike for an eternity, and will continue to do so despite the obvious lack of logic that it is based on. If you never go bust you will continually stick on low hands which have no chance of beating the dealer. The dealer has to stand on soft 17, and you stand on 15 to prevent going bust. How is that ever going to make the game profitable for you?
Card counting - Basically, unless you are a fantastic mathematician or have a photographic memory, don’t even try. It’s more complicated than you think, and takes a lot of hard work. And if you thought it would reap immediate rewards; you’re wrong. The most important thing to note is that if you were thinking of trying card counting when playing online; think again. The Random Number Generator is exactly as it says; random. It can’t be beat in this way.
Doubling down - Do not avoid doubling down as it is very useful and is the best way to make more money more quickly. New players are often afraid of this move due to the additional wager and the uncertainty. Of course, it will only work if understood properly. Watch out for casinos that only let you double down on certain totals as these will be the hands with the better chance of the casino winning. If you know you have a good chance of winning; do not avoid the opportunity.

Getting to know the basic poker rules is the first thing you need to do if you want to play poker. Poker is easy to learn and difficult to master and because of that, Absolute Poker gives you the basic poker rules you need to understand and use and practice to become a good poker player.
While there are many different types and styles of poker, when you know the poker rules, you are referring to a standard set of rules, guidelines and commonalities between variations of poker.
Poker Rules - Cards
First of all, is important to know that poker uses a standard deck of 52 playing cards (for most variations). Cards are ranked in a systematic fashion. 2 is the lowest card, Ace is the highest. The deck is split into four suits; no suit is of more value than another. A poker hand contains five cards. The highest hand at the table wins. Some variations utilize wild cards, but to gain a proper sense of the game, you should learn the hand ranks as they exist without the possibility of wild cards first.

Playing Blackjack is fairly easy to learn. But learning to play the game well takes education and playing practice. The Blackjack is all about the total of 21 when adding up the cards dealt to you and the same applys for the dealer. The cards equal face value from 2 through nine. Ten and face cards are each a total of ten and the aces are either one or eleven. The premise of the game is to get as close as you can to 21 without going over or busting your hand. The dealer must hit (take a card) any hand that totals less than 17. If the dealer has a soft 17, which is six and an ace, the dealer must hit the hand. Any hand that totals over 17 the dealer will stand pat on that hand. The player has no such rules. The player can stand on any total they wish to stop at.

Though the general rules of Gin-Rummy are simple -take a card, discard a card - but gin rummy is far more complex to learn, is more strategic game than most people realize. Below I have listed the “10 commandments” of online strategy:
1. Play to knock As quickly as possible, develop a hand consisting of melds, a triangle, and a knock cache. When you hit one of the four cards needed to create a meld from the triangle, you can knock. When playing Oklahoma, you should evaluate this rule based on the knock card; the closer to ten it is, the more applicable the rule.
2. If you’re going to knock, knock! If you are not playing to gin, knock as soon as possible. Every delay gives your opponent a chance to beat you to the knock. This is the most commonly violated rule in gin rummy (as well as in life generally).
